Sex & the Cottage...

Update!!! Okay, well there is not much to report, except that Ian and I are having a FABULOUS time! Work is good, the apartment is good, we've made friends with the bums down the street, so yeah, all is good.

I'm beginning to think I do not belong downtown (or maybe just certain parts of downtown). The air here bothers me, its way too loud, too many sirens, too crowded, not enough trees, and Toronto has a huge homeless population. I don't know how I feel about these people
anymore. I used to feel pity, now its a mixture of pity, disgust and extreme dislike for them. Something must be done!!!!

I keep thinking about a cottage, by the lake, where its quiet at night and you can actually see the stars. I keep thinking about how well I sleep when I'm up at the cottage and how much healthier I feel when I'm there. The food even tastes better. But wait...this is ME!!!! I'm a pure city girl at heart, who loves to watch Sex and the City and drink martinis and shop, etc. Its true, I do love the city, with everything it has to offer. But honestly, how often do I take advantage of these things, like museums, galleries...umm...the harbour front, the C.N. Tower, catching a leafs games or even better, a blue jays game (riiight). Maybe its because I'm too friggin' EXHAUSTED at the end of the day, travelling in traffic, either on the subway, crammed like a sardine in a can, or on the streetcar, where its even more cozier cause I get to snuggle up against some drunk whose breath smells like beer (its not even 5 p.m. guy!!!).

Anyways, I truly don't feel this way about all parts of Toronto. Honestly, when Ian first moved down here to Toronto last August, he lived in Little Italy and it was such a fun experience hanging down there. I've already expressed my interest to Ian that we eventually move down there. It has that city feel, but without that CRAZY CITY feel. More residential streets to walk down, not as many bums yelling at you...or yelling period. More trees, less police. More grass and less condos.

But anyways dudes! Peace in the Middle East! (I know, wtf?)

Cheers,
Annie!
